Watch Dogs Legion will introduce cross-play between all platforms in a future update

This October, prior to the departure of the new generation, it is having important launches. One of the most prominent is Watch Dogs Legion, the new Ubisoft video game set in dystopian London. The title will be out on October 29 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. When Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5 are released, the video game version will also arrive on those consoles.

Well, in the absence of two weeks for the launch of the game, we remind you that it will have as its main feature the “play as anyone” functionality (play as anyone), which will allow us to recruit any character we see around the city and use their skills, we have learned new information. The new data comes from the hand of producer Lathieeshe Thillainathan.

The developer participated in a question session via Reddit and left some interesting phrases. The first thing is that Thillainathan confirmed that Watch Dogs Legion will have cross-play in the future and is an update planned for the first year of life. The game also has a cooperative online section with different missions, so this functionality will be interesting. Of course, the game will have cross-progression between all platforms from day one. By logging in with our Ubisoft account in the video game, we could follow our game on different platforms if we have the game on them.

Thillainathan also stated that the game will not force the player to be permanently connected to the Internet in order to function. Obviously, there will be some functionalities that need the Internet (for example, sharing images with other players) that we will not be able to use, but there will be no problem to play without being connected to the network.

The Ubisoft worker also talked about the performance we can expect from the video game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X: ” ray tracing, 4K, and 30 fps “. He did not give details of how the game will work on Xbox Series S. Finally, Thillainathan insisted that micropayments will focus mainly on cosmetics.
